An attractive plant that is at home in the vegetable and ornamental garden. A tough, hardy perennial that grows to 40 cm high, making it an ideal border plant. The bright green leaves have deep red ribbing and a sour, lemon-flavour. For the kitchen the tender young leaves can be used raw. As the plants mature use cook like spinach or stir fry.
